Reconnect - Refuel - Rekindle
March 8-10, 2019
The Rekindle Conference begins Friday evening with dinner and concludes after brunch on Sunday morning. This intimate weekend is a great opportunity to develop your relationship without all the usual distractions. Couples of all ages have enjoyed this special time to truly rekindle their marriages the way God intends it be.
The same special features including the "Saturday Date Night", great food, and "making camp as romantic as possible" will be included. This special weekend is a great opportunity for growth for couples both young and old or for those who have never attended before or have attended numerous times in the past.
SPEAKER: SCOTT AND PAM BRUNS
Scott (Executive Director) and Pam (Food Service Director) have been privileged to live and serve at Scioto Hills for the past 12 years. The two of them have been in Christian ministry together for 38 years. Scott and Pam came to Scioto Hills in 2006 from Northglenn CO where he served as the administrator of the Community Christian School and she taught in the elementary department. During that time Scott also served as an associate pastor at the Calvary Community Baptist Church. Prior to Colorado the Bruns' taught for 5 years at the Mill Road Christian School in Evansville IN. They both graduated from Denver Baptist Bible College (now Faith Baptist Bible College) with education degrees. Scott earned his MA from Grace Seminary in IN. Scott and Pam love the gift of marriage and are committed to its Biblical model. They have been counseling couples, speaking at marriage retreats, and teaching on the subject for many years. They are active members of the Wheelersburg Baptist Church. Scott coaches the middle school soccer team in South Webster, loves to garden and has fun with the camp animal barn. Pam enjoys teaching her piano students, trying new recipes and has her own "prayer room" in their home. The Bruns have three boys, two of which are married. They also enjoy their two adopted grandsons.
THEME: The Colossians Marriage Manual
The Book of Colossians clearly defends the preeminence of Christ in all things. The Biblcal concept of "beliefs effecting behavior" is woven throughout the book and becomes a wonderful guide for promoting a healthy, Christ-honoring marriage. When couples are grounded in Biblical truth, and truly believe what the Scriptures teach about life, they are most capable of practicing what the Scriptures teach us regarding how we "do" life. This is especially true in marriage and how we "behave" toward our spouse. The Book of Colossians is truly a marriage manual. During the four teaching sessions and throughout the weekend couples will be given assignments and opportunities to share, discuss and interact with the other couples in attendance.

Here's what guests are saying about Rekindle:
"We were invited by friends and I was very skeptical at first. But all of the material was beneficial... THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I highly recommend the weekend. We'd like to have our church attend!"
"I learned that how I treat my wife is a direct reflection of my relationship with Christ. ... God has blessed us by allowing us to be here this weekend! Scott, Pam, and every member of the staff truly have a servant's heart! My wife and I will forever be changed (for the good) by what we've learned at Rekindle. Thank you!!"
"We attended Rekindle because our marriage is very important to us and we needed to recharge. We enjoyed our interaction with other Christian couples going through the same things as we are. ... I wish the weekend was longer."
"I liked spending time together as a couple without the kids. We learned how to better communicate with each other and realized it will take a lot of work and continual work. ... I really enjoyed my time away from the normal rat-race to spend time focusing on each other and our marriage."
"I most liked the quality of teaching. The lesson on communication provided the greatest value to our marriage. ... Thank you; each time we come, we learn so much."
"We loved the opportunity to spend the weekend as a couple and focus on our relationship away from the daily grind. Thank you for the afternoon and evening free times; they are important to have time to process the material... The lodging was exceptional (as always!). I was amazed that several couples expected non-heated cabins and outhouses!! Ha ha!"
