Rewind Campout Night

Rewind is designed to give fathers a special chance to spend quality, unforgettable time with their sons.

A father shapes a son’s life in profound ways. That's why we have chosen to change Rewind to provide an intentional time set aside for fathers and sons to grow closer to the Lord and strengthen their relationships. Surrounded by the woods and hills at camp, you'll have the opportunity to dive into God's Word together, lift your voices in worship, share meaningful conversations, and create exciting memories through the outdoor environment, fun activities, and delicious meals.

While every father-son relationship is deeply cherished, this weekend is designed especially for fathers and their sons in grades 2nd through 12th. If your relationship doesn't quite fit this, we encourage you to consider the Renovate Men’s Retreat for an opportunity to enrich your father and son relationship.

WHY ARE WE CHANGING REWIND TO A FATHER & SON RETREAT?

At Scioto Hills, we are grateful for the privilege of using the beautiful setting the Lord has given us, an intentional focus on God’s Word, and loving hospitality to help people draw near to Him. We love partnering with local churches to serve their people well.

In recent years, we’ve been very intentional about reaching the whole church family. Scioto Hills has always, and will continue to, serve the kids of the church. At the same time, we believe it is best to serve the entire church family together. You’ve seen this in the growth of our ministry: three weeks of Family Camp each summer and the addition of several new retreats during the school year. As these programs have expanded, we’ve been blessed to meet and serve many more people, and we’ve needed to adjust some of our events along the way. The changes to the Rewind retreat are part of that effort.

We have loved hosting dads and their elementary-aged children for the hammock village campout. However, we believe shifting Rewind to a father/son retreat will allow us to serve more campers more effectively. Rewind will now be open to fathers and sons up through age 18, giving dads the opportunity to enjoy this event with their sons for many more years. While the campout option will still be available, we are also adding a variety of housing options that we believe will appeal to more families. In addition, this revised format will pair well with our mother/daughter retreat, Refine, held each November.

Rewind will still include many of your favorite elements: solid biblical teaching, bonfires, fun activities, an outdoor education component, and more. Thank you for your interest in Scioto Hills and for your desire to invest in your children’s spiritual lives. We hope you will consider joining us for the updated Rewind retreat.

As with all Scioto Events, registration closes one week prior to the event start date.

Outdoors activities - Archery, Avalanche Zip Line, Disc Golf, Paddle Boats, Fishing, and more!

Families may arrive to register between 5:00-6:30 on Friday afternoon to hike, fish, and enjoy the beautiful fall colors; the first scheduled activity will be dinner. Families can depart at their leisure after dinner Saturday evening.
